Hello. I’m SangGyu An, who is passionate about understanding people through data. I recently completed my Data Science degree at UC San Diego, and my journey has centered on building real-world, human-focused solutions, especially in recommendation systems and graph-based modeling.

Whether predicting which streamer a user might watch next, recommending posts on decentralized platforms like Bluesky, or helping artists make better decisions through concert revenue forecasting, my projects aim to translate insights into meaningful action. I approach each problem with a key question in mind:
“Whose life will this actually help, and how will this impact them?”

My work spans:

• Graph-based recommendation models with real-time adaptability and diversity
• End-to-end model development from data collection to deployment and evaluation
• Communicating insights clearly to both technical and non-technical teams

Outside of data, you’ll often find me with a Fujifilm X-T30 in hand, enjoying the latest films, or perfecting a cup of pour-over coffee.
